The Conference
ISSS has been conducting a series of triennial International Conference on Smart Materials, Structures & Systems at Bangalore.  Apart from these, ISSS also organizes annual National level Conference  to give platform to present the research carries out in the area of MEMS, Smart materials, structures and systems.

The progress in the key focus areas of ISSS has been covered in innumerable forums all over the world, including the previous six international and five national conferences held at various parts of India. The evolution and maturing of these technologies are clearly seen over the years.  The Seventh ISSS National conference will attract researchers, industries and other professionals in the field of MEMS, Smart Materials, Structures & Systems, across the country with a special emphasis on piezoelectric materials, sensors and systems. The focus is on the following topics:-

  • Smart Materials and nanotechnology

  • Sensors and Actuators

  • MEMS/ NEMS: Design, Electronics Packaging

  • Signal Conditioning & Processing related to Smart Materials, Structures & Systems

  • Applications: Structural Health Monitoring, Bio MEMS/NEMS, RF-MEMS, Automotive sensors, etc.

A pre-conference workshop is scheduled on 23 Sep.2015.

A special session is earmarked for ISSS Annual Awards presentation during the conference.
