ISSS Foundation Courses on Micro, Nano and Smart Systems

Catching up with fast-growing technologies is essential in today’s competitive world. Classroom teaching helps students get a firm hold on the basics and theory but gaining skills in contemporary topics need extra effort. To help engineering undergraduate and postgraduates, ISSS has planned a few certification courses. These courses are taught by experts in the Indian Institute of Science campus in an intense 30-hour format over one or two weeks. An examination will be held at the end of the course and a certificate will be issued. Interested students may register by paying the course fee. Those who are already ISSS members get a special discount of 50%.

Certification Course on “Microfluidics” and “Microfabrication of MEMS Devices”

Rajalakshmi Engineering College was established in the year 1997 by the Rajalakshmi Educational Trust, at Thandalam on the National Highway (NH-4) between Chennai and Bangalore. Over the years, the college has developed expertise in a number of niche areas such as MEMS, Machine Vision and CFD.

In the year 2009, a National MEMS Design Centre (NMDC) was established at Rajalakshmi Engineering College as a centralized facility, under National Program on Micro And Smart Systems (NPMASS), Govt.of India. Later, the Centre of Excellence in MEMS and Microfluidics (CEMM) was set up in the same premises with clean room infrastructure. CEMM focuses on sponsored research projects with in-house fabrication facilities and successfully completed more than 15 projects from various funding agencies such as DST, DRDO, AERB, BRNS etc.

CEMM, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai in association with Institute of Smart Structure and Systems (ISSS) is offering two certificate courses namely “Microfluidics” and “Microfabrication Techniques for MEMS Devices”, on four Saturdays in the month of March and April respectively.

The courses are offered in both offline and online modes. Candidates can choose the mode of attending the program at their convenience. The training and hands-on sessions provided for the offline candidates will be parallelly live streamed for the online candidates.
