On the occasion of 60th Year Diamond Jubilee Celebration,CMTI is organising ‘Design & Innovation Clinic 2022‘ on 6th-8th June 2022, with the objective of inspiring young engineers to nurture their scientific temperament towards engineering innovations. This event is challenging as it involves 3 rounds of competition. The final round is an all-nighter, straight 36 hours event to build a prototype or a working model at Central Manufacturing Technology Institute, Bangalore. The Centre for Product Design & Manufacturing (CPDM), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) initiated India’s first Smart Factory R&D Platform in 2014. It is now expanded into a Common Engineering Facility Centre (CEFC) for Industry 4.0 under the Samarth Udyog Bharat 4.0 Programme of the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI), Govt of India. It has a demonstration platform for smart factory showcasing the ‘state of the art’ technologies, to be used for R&D, and for supporting innovation, startups and training programmes.

The applicant must have hands-on experience in semiconductor fabrication and device packaging. The selected candidate will work on the design, fabrication, characterization, and packaging of Silicon- Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) based High-performance Accelerometer (SiMHA). The main focus of the project is the fabrication of the wafer-level hermetically encapsulated sensor structure using a multi-wafer stack silicon fusion bonding process.

The Advanced RF Technologies (ART) Group at Tyndall National Institute (TNI) and University College Cork is advertising for the position of the Post-doctoral Researcher/Scientist in Microwave/mm-Wave active circuits for 5G RF front-ends. Our team aims to recruit well-qualified and highly-motivated researchers with strong background in RF/mm-Wave circuit design, power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, RF front-end components and integrated circuits. The post holder will be the lead researcher of an interdisciplinary and ambitions project that will research and develop highly-integrated and performance-enhanced RF front-ends for highly-versatile 5G RF transceivers. The postholder will require competences in RF circuit design, electromagnetic design, linear and non-linear RF characterization. Furthermore, the postholder is expected to manage the project and co-supervise MS and PhD students.

The candidate will be given an initial 18-month contract with potential of extension to a multi-year contract subject to performance and availability of funds.

The Advanced RF Technologies (ART) Group at Tyndall National Institute (TNI) and University College Cork is advertising for the position of the Postdoctoral Researcher in Highly-Reconfigurable Microwave RF Filters for well-qualified and highly-motivated researchers with extensive experience in one of more of the following: filter synthesis techniques, tunable filters (planar, 3D waveguide and acoustic SAW/BAW/FBAR), low loss RF tuning methods and low-cost integration methods for high-frequency RF filters. The post holder will be employed as the lead researcher of an ambitious research project that aims to develop highly-reconfigurable RF filters for the next generation of 5G communication systems.
